Firenze!!

Florence is absolutely spectacular!! I can't believe how amazing it all is. The green marble on the baptistry and the duomo is just stunning and the David was far larger and more incredible that I had thought it would be. I actually think, dare I say it, that I like Florence more than Rome. It was quiet, beautiful, and what I expect Europe to be. It had the nice city-like area and just around the corner were hills covered in homes and fun, winding paths to explore. Not to mention how much fun walking around the markets and shops was. I think I may very well have to go back and spend longer than just a day there at some point over my lifetime. For lunch, we stopped at a cute little place, and since I was starving, I got pizza and ravioli - both were splendid. It made me more excited for ravioli in Bologna! I got some good gifts for my family and added them to the fun little stack growing under my nightstand when I got back to the room. I may have to ship out a few boxes to everyone just to clear out space soon...

I am getting rather sleepy since I have been getting up so early everyday this weekend (we met at 5:15 this morning to get to the train station...) so I am going to quickly add my itinerary for next week and get to bed. I will upload bunches of pictures tomorrow afternoon when I am done with class!! Buonasera!
